The arrival of the new year presents the new Ford Kuga without, however, the diesel.
Ford presents the new version of its larger SUV, a best seller in many countries. We are talking about the best-selling plug-in hybrid in 2021 and 2022 and we are awaiting the definitive data for 2023.
Kuga is a striking example of how electrification has entered the Ford world with importance and determination.
Here are therefore only hybrid engines, which have made it possible to conquer many Italians and Europeans and have convinced Ford to say goodbye to Diesel. According to the US company's roadmap, the range will be fully electric in Europe by 2035.
Thanks to a 3D printing process, which allows for attention to detail and sustainability, this new model has even more attractive lines.
Starting from the base, we can say that the entry engine is a 1500 cubic centimeter petrol engine with 150 horsepower, while if we want the hybrid version we will have the plugin with 69 km of autonomy in completely electric mode, combined with a 2500 cc.
The plugin will have a power of 224 horsepower, delivered to the ground thanks to the use of four large wheels well glued to the ground and front-wheel drive. It is also possible to have all-wheel drive in the 190 horsepower version, for always top driving safety.
Looking at the car externally, you immediately notice how the restyling has captured the front, with a full-width LED light bar. In this way the front grille is framed and shaped into a new vision.
The headlights are completely LED, and obviously there is automatic high beam control as standard. Dynamic Pixel LED headlights are also available for those who are most attentive to safety and visibility. This technology allows you to modify the light beam when cornering, but also inside intersections and roundabouts, in order to better illuminate any pedestrians and cyclists.
There is also a version totally designed for those who love adventure and off-roading, characterized by more robustness and the ability to tackle complicated surfaces, such as sand and mud.
A car that is really very practical inside and does not differ much from previous versions. The second row seats can also slide longitudinally to increase legroom or even boot volume.
Thanks to 5G connectivity, the multimedia system manages to be as updated and integrated as possible on a global level. Finally, the new adaptive cruise control manages to automatically activate the brakes when cornering but also at intersections or in traffic.
At the rear there are no major changes and the line remains very clean and characterized by strong but overall soft lines. Note the two chromed extractors which allow for an even sportier and more dynamic line.
Presented in very lively colours, it will certainly capture the attention of many people who are interested in a medium-sized SUV and are lovers of sustainable mobility.
Writing this article you immediately think of 2035 and Ford's decision and desire to completely convert its range of electric-only cars in Europe.
A decidedly courageous decision, which will have to be carried out in a constant and programmatic manner to best adapt Ford consumers to this epochal change.
All in all, there aren't many years left until 2035, and we will therefore have to see a progressive revolution of all Ford cars within our beautiful country.
Clearly Ford will continue to produce diesel cars for other areas of the world, as we are talking about a brand characterized by global coverage of its reality. If anything, one day it will be possible to import the old diesel also into Italy and Europe, but we are not certain of this.
Surely Ford and the entire Italian system will have to invest heavily in electric to give the possibility of traveling in completely green mode, but also making 100% use of all the comfort and silence potential of electric.
