The German automotive company completely revolutionizes the small SUV with a completely new look.

In Germany they decided to completely revolutionize the style and soul of the little BMW X2. We have reached the second generation of this compact SUV, which now winks at its larger sisters X4 and X6.

The car was launched in 2018, and now the time had come to create the second generation. After five years of honored career with a truly personal style, BMW wanted to unify the style and make it as similar as possible to that of its older sisters.

With the second generation, arriving in March 2024, this new car reinterprets its soul, significantly increasing its dimensions.

The line becomes almost like a coupé, and getting into this car is really very interesting.

For lovers of sustainable mobility, this car embraces the historical moment of transition even more. For the first time this car will be completely electric and its name will be iX2. A revolution that is essential in 2023, for the historic automotive moment that must embrace the reduction of emissions and the containment of consumption.

A new car that increases in size, reaching 455 cm in length. This is a considerable increase of over 19cm, with an increase in width too.

BMW engineers have also created a more generous wheelbase and wider tracks, allowing for more space on board. The trunk is really considerable for an electric one, as it starts at 525 liters, while for the thermal versions we are talking about 560 liters.

Looking at the car from the front, you can see how the typical BMW grille has an almost hexagonal shape. To give a scenic touch, it can be illuminated for the first time, in order to give style and a new soul to this car.

Looking at it instead in the rear threequarters, you notice these really very beautiful headlights that integrate and shape themselves perfectly within the overall line.

We can say without fear that this car is now characterized by a truly important and decisive style. This can also be seen from the rear extractor, defined by taut lines and made with glossy finishes in contrast with the bodywork.

The wheel arch and shoulders are muscular, and together with the rear spoiler create a look that is truly impossible to miss.

When we get on board the car we are greeted by these two giant screens, positioned above the steering wheel and in the upper part of the dashboard. The interior design of the cars is now truly minimal, and everything is managed in the armrest controls.

The instrument panel houses the curved display, while the suspended armrest integrates a control panel. In the front part of the central console we can find, in addition to the two cup holders, also a compartment for the smartphone with wireless charging.

Getting into this car means being surrounded by truly well-made seats, also characterized by excellent quality leather. As standard we find the dual-zone automatic climate control, but also the BMW navigator and the sports steering wheel.

Driving assistants and digital services have been implemented compared to the previous model.

Wide choice for motorization both in thermal mode and also in electric mode. For those who love sustainable mobility, and want to choose an electric motor, let's start with 313 horsepower and 490 Newton meters of torque. In this way the acceleration time is just 5 seconds and 6 tenths, to reach a speed of 100 km/h with the possibility of going up to 180 km per hour.

In terms of autonomy, the car can cover from 417 to 449 km on a single charge.

If instead we want to choose the diesel version, we clearly have the classic four-cylinder in-line with 150 horsepower which backs up the small 1,500 cm hybrid petrol engine with 170 horsepower.

The top of the range, however, is the 300 horsepower 4-cylinder petrol engine, characterized by a sprint time of 5.4 seconds.

On all vehicles we have a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox, perfect for making the progression of this beautiful car smooth.

No data on prices have yet been released, but they will certainly be in line with the price list of other BMW models. This new generation of car is definitely projected towards the future, and after five years from its debut the time had finally come to create the new generation of this beautiful compact car.
