The new long-awaited model finally arrives in our country. New style, starting with a more gritty front.

Fresh news, particularly popular, comes from France. We are talking about the new DS3, thanks to the very successful restyling in our opinion. To give the icing on the cake, also the new electric version, with a range of up to 500 km.

As we all know, car manufacturers have to carry out constant restyling of their vehicles. The perfect time to do it? Mid-career of the generation in production.

# DS3 can already be ordered, but will arrive in dealerships during the first quarter of next year.

It bases its creation on the Citroen C3, but distorts it in terms of design with a truly unique style. The touches are very well placed, and concern in particular the front. In fact, the grille has been redesigned, and now it is really much more appreciable, as well as wider.

The edges are diamond-shaped, with a black painted or chromed frame depending on the set-up. The vertical headlights, which are called DS Wings, give a touch of importance to the front grille. The latter have been modified, and collect the mask with the new LED technology headlights. For those wishing to upgrade, it will be possible to purchase optional Matrix led headlights.

Also new are the daytime running lights, which are represented by two lines of LEDs arranged vertically.

Small touches for the rear, where we can identify a black molding that emphasizes the headlights, whose development is horizontal. The DS Automobile inscription is made with a very precise and specific technology, where the letters in polished stainless steel are divided and set one by one.

DS has always been synonymous with great quality and attention to detail. The alloy wheels have been revised, and are now available in 17 or 18 inches. The latter are also divided by themes and colors. The electric version is equipped with alloy wheels with specially made tires.

In terms of coloring, we have 7 body colors that we can choose from matte, metallic or pearlescent. There is also the new three-layer red color that was created specifically for this car.

It is also possible to make a two-tone combination, with two roof variants (black or gray).

In terms of set-ups, we have 6 levels. The interiors are obviously very neat, right from the basic version, called Opera. We can also find upholstery in Nappa leather, with an ad hoc finish, as well as Alcantara.

On this new version, a new steering wheel makes its debut that combines the controls for driving aids and buttons for the multimedia system, as well as, of course, the levers for changing the automatic version.

There is also a 10-inch maxi screen, perfect for having a total view of the multimedia system. The digital dashboard is made in a size of 7 inches, also combined with the head-up display.

The seats are very enveloping, and made with a high-density foam, therefore perfect for making long journeys in total comfort. The front seats are also equipped with diffused heating, as well as being massaging in the lumbar area and electric.

The Performance Line and Performance Line + lines have very high-quality equipment.

For lovers of the electric version, the latter has a power of 155 horsepower and 270 Newtonmeter of torque. The battery is 54 kWh, also equipped with a thermal control through the circulation of liquids. Thanks to the direct current recharge, it can be recharged from 0 to 100 in 5 hours. Its positioning is under the front and rear seats, and allows a range of 400 km in the combined cycle, and over 500 km in city traffic.

However, there is no shortage of petrol versions, with a 3-cylinder turbo of 130 or 100 horsepower, and the classic diesel in the more powerful versions (even with an 8-speed automatic transmission).

Safety terms are guaranteed, thanks to the rear view camera and lane keeping assistant and automatic emergency braking. Adaptive cruise control, with Stop & Go function, and automatic synchronization of speed limits indicated by signs, are optional on some versions.

In terms of price, we start from around € 28,000 to go up to € 41,000 in the electric version.

An excellent car that manages to give an extra touch of sparkle to the world of urban cars. This very compact car is ideal for driving in the city, but nevertheless does not deny a desire to explore the extra urban, also in consideration of the possibility of purchasing it in an electric version, with a good overall range.

Appointment, however, in 2023 to see it live, while it is now possible to order it at all DS automobiles showrooms in Italy.
