The Italian circuit has been officially included in the Formula 1 calendar for 2021. The date is April 18.

If the coronavirus had monopolized the changes to the Formula 1 calendar in 2020, 2021 doesn't look much different. In fact, the Australian and Chinese Grand Prix have been postponed , while the Imola Grand Prix has been entered with enormous success for the Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack.

The first news had obviously already arrived for some time, about the postponement of the Australian stage in Melbourne to November, which was initially scheduled for March, as usual, the first round of the world championship. At this point, the first checkered flag will be seen on 28 March in the # F1 Grand Prix of Bahrain, before moving to Italy for the second edition of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.

The Chinese Grand Prix has also been postponed to a later date, even if the online rumors state that there are possible and concrete situations that allow the actual performance of the Grand Prix towards the end of the year.

2021 will be a very busy year, with as many as 23 Grands Prix. It will start on March 26th as we have said and will end on December 12th in Abu Dhabi. It is almost a full year that will be characterized by a whole series of ultra-performance races.

However, it has not yet been fully released in its entirety . The Grand Prix which will take place between April 30th and May 2nd is still being assigned. The most inclined and most suitable circuit to take this slot is Portimao in Portugal with beautiful ups and downs that allow the cars to create exciting challenges for the drivers in the race.

At this point the question arises whether the Imola Grand Prix will be able to have the public in the stands. There is actually a slight glimpse that there may be a very residual number of people. It depends a lot on the coronavirus pandemic and on the continuation of these months.

This is a very successful figure for Emilia Romagna and for the governor of that region, Stefano Bonaccini, who according to the Resto del Carlino has already budgeted over 11 million euros for major events. Certainly an important figure in numerical terms, but which must in any case be counterbalanced by a return of image and a careful study of image management, even in targeted partnerships with companies in the territories. If it were also possible to involve the minimum number of people in the stands, this would allow Emilia-Romagna to be a point of attraction for Italian tourism as well.

Great expectations therefore for Ferrari , which will have to try to secure a place among the 3 fastest teams, obviously after Mercedes and Red Bull. The race with Racing Point and the other teams therefore remains open, always observing what 2021 will be for Vettel and his new racing adventure in Formula 1.

If football fans are always waiting for the former's goal, we'll see if Vettel puts his new car ahead of the Ferraris, especially at the Imola and Monza circuits.
