The SUV of the German house now comes in the R version with a power of 320 horsepower, 4Motion traction with R Performance torque vectoring for truly top driving performance.
The German company, which has always been a leader in the transition to electric cars, has now presented the new ultra-powerful and ultra-sporty version of the Tiguan with heat engine. We are therefore talking about a medium SUV, now equipped with a remarkable performance engine. In fact, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.9 seconds. All this is thanks to an engine that has the ability to touch 250 km per hour and to accelerate lightning fast thanks to the 320 horses that are placed inside the structure.
The four cylinders are also able to develop a maximum torque of 420 Newton meters, starting from just 2100 rpm. The 4Motion all-wheel drive system with R Performance torque vectoring was then joined for the first time by a rear final drive with two multi-disc clutches. In this way, the drive power is also distributed variably between the left and right rear wheels, and not only at the overall rear axle level. In this way, handling in corners is significantly improved.
Looking at it externally, you immediately notice how there are sports inserts in glossy black or in body color. The exterior mirror caps are also in matt chrome, and there is also a unique rear diffuser also colored with a glossy black color. The wheels are abundant in size, with a size of 20 inches. Going inside the car you immediately notice how this R version of the Tiguan is different from all the other versions. We have in fact premium sports seats with integrated headrests and R logo which was made exclusively for this model. In the complete era of digitization, the custom cockpit cannot be missing, which also has an integrated chronometer inside.
Great performances need a great braking system and a frame adaptation. Volkswagen wanted to make an 18-inch brake system with blue brake calipers and R logo at the front, as well as a DCC chassis with adaptively controlled dampers that was lowered by an inch. This particular mode can be activated directly by the driver via a button that is placed on the steering wheel of the car. Also around the steering wheel, we find the paddles for the seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox. Furthermore, by purchasing the car in the standard equipment we have the possibility of deactivating the ESC, as well as having a four-arm sports exhaust system.
For those who are never satisfied, Volkswagen has optionally prepared an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system and alloy wheels with a 21-inch diameter.
Tiguan is certainly the most successful SUV in Europe, built every 35 seconds from the Volkswagen production line in 2019. It is therefore right to go and create an ultra sporty version to combine the truly apt line of this SUV, with top performance.
All enthusiasts will clearly be very happy to be able to view the vehicle, and buy it at a price starting from € 56,700 in Germany. The official Italian lists have not yet come out, but we assume that they are in line with the German ones.
