The small compact of the German house has reached an important milestone. For this reason, Stellantis has decided to make a limited edition.
It all began in 1982. Opel Corsa was one of the cars that really marked the history of a brand, and in this case of the German concept of the Automotive world.
Entering the market to replace the Opel Kadett City, its shape and size have progressively changed within the 6 generations that have followed one another over the years.
It was also sold, through other companies of the General Motors group, within the British market, in Latin America, as well as in Australia and Japan.
Its dimensions are really compact and have allowed millions of people to experience the city and travel in a really simple and easy way. A 100% electric version has also been made lately, and the questions are coming in really interesting ways.
For the occasion, Opel has decided to create a limited edition to celebrate the more than 14 million vehicles created.
The special 40 Years model will go on sale in the coming weeks in some European countries.
The German manufacturer has decided to choose for this limited edition, a red livery and said black contract.
The production of this limited version will have only 1982 units, just like the debut year of the vehicle.
The color red was not chosen out of an attempt or desire for innovation, but it is exactly what it was on the original Opel Corsa, first model.
The alloy wheels are characterized by a size of 17 inches, glossy black with matt gray inserts, which highlight the sporty character of the car.
Climbing aboard the car, we encounter an anti-conformist mood, but also a very modern one. We are talking about a cross between the unconventional and elegant, just as it was the first generation of the model.
The modern interpretation can also be seen in the particular finish of the seats.
Each model will be numbered progressively from number 0001 up to 1982. The numbering will be positioned in the black finish of the dashboard, on the passenger side.
The special version of the Opel Corsa, of course, will be equipped with a whole series of comfort functions, but also in the field of safety, as standard.
Let's start with the “simple” and almost routine multimedia radio, compatible with Apple carplay and Android auto, as well as technological LED headlights. There is also no lack of electronic driver assistance systems, such as accident warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection.
The engines do not change for the special version, and are petrol with a 1,200 cubic centimeter 3-cylinder and 75, 101 and 130 horsepower. The diesel will always be the 1,500 cubic centimeters, from 102 horses, while the electric version allows 330 km of autonomy.
Looking at the photos of this new special version, you can see just how the world of mobility has changed radically over the course of 40 years.
The initial square shapes have gradually given way to a much more jaunty and dynamic view. The headlights are now well integrated into the grille and convey a sense of fluidity to the car at every angle.
