The French brand presents the new face of its city compact car. An electric car but also a hybrid or petrol one.
Those who were used to recognizing the beautiful Citroën C3 at first glance will now be a little taken aback. The lines are definitely different and the logo on the front has also changed.
This is a real revolution for those who love the Citroën world and in particular small to medium sized cars.
The shapes wink at the world of Crossovers, with prices that are truly competitive. There is also an electric version which promises to be one of the cheapest 100% Green cars on the market. The electric version will be offered at 23,900 euros, which could become just under 20,000 in 2025 with a version with less autonomy.
However, this should not lead one to think that the car is lacking in additional features. In fact, there is automatic braking and involuntary lane change warning as standard.
By keeping the length unchanged, Citroen wanted to truly revolutionize everything on the outside. The front lights are horizontal and characterized by taut lines inside the light unit.
The front appears massive and will be perfect for those who love dynamism and off-road sportiness. As we have just introduced, for the European version, the new Citroën will also be presented with an electric power supply, capable of releasing 113 horsepower.
The power comes from the front wheels, and the time to sprint from 0 to 100 km per hour is 11 seconds. The maximum speed that can be reached with this car is 135 kilometers per hour. A figure that might make some people turn up their noses, but all in all it is the maximum speed allowed in Italy on the motorway.
Powering the electric motor is a 44 kWh battery, also capable of quickly recharging up to 100 kW. In direct current, therefore with high-speed columns, it takes just 30 minutes to go from 20 to 80%.
Alternatively, with alternating current, it takes three hours with a power that can reach up to 11 kW. In terms of autonomy, we are talking about around 320 km, which is not an exceptional figure if we have to travel, but certainly excellent if we use the car mainly in the city.
In fact, those who travel a few kilometers every day, less than 100 approximately, should have no problems being able to recharge the car at night and have the battery fully charged during the day.
For those who want to maintain a close "friendship" with internal combustion engines, there should be two choices made by Citroën. We have the simple and pure 1,200 cc petrol engine with turbocharger, or also combined in the hybrid version.
In both cases the power will be 101 horsepower. The difference? In the broadcast. In the case of the pure petrol engine, we have the classic manual gearbox, while in the other case we have a dual clutch robotised transmission.
Those who wish to purchase the electric version will be able to make the most of the e-Routes app, which will allow them to have everything under control of the charging stops within the itinerary entered in the navigator.
This application allows you to have real-time information on traffic, also modifying the charging schedule accordingly. Depending on the delivery power and the route, the application will indicate which optimal solution we should choose.
Climbing aboard the car, we immediately notice how Citroën has always been synonymous with creative excellence. The interior is decidedly large and spacious, and finished with good quality materials. The dashboard is decidedly original and is arranged on two levels, with a 10-inch screen, which allows all the services and aspects of the car to be clearly visible.
There is no shortage of physical buttons, and they are arranged in the lower part of the dashboard. In this way we will be able to comfortably control the air conditioner in a simple and direct way.
There is clearly no shortage of a digital dashboard, which allows you to have all the driving information simply and clearly. In the event that we choose an electric version, the dashboard tells us the charging status and informs us if we need to quickly recharge the car.
The seats are really very comfortable and have differentiated padding. Sitting on these seats means entering a true state of total comfort and well-being.
The trunk has grown by 10 liters compared to the current version, and now reaches 310 liters in total. This car is certainly very interesting and will really appeal to those who want to choose an original car... and why not, even an electric one to use every day.
Citroen has also been very careful when it comes to interior design, in particular in the creation of the C-Zen lounge, the new interior concept of the Citroën world. The driver and passenger can benefit from a very wide and obstacle-free view ahead.
By using and taking full advantage of the large windscreen and horizontal dashboard, you can have a perfect view of everything outside the car. The introduction of the digital instrument panel for the first time on all trim levels also allows the car to create an overall improvement in the offering.
The infotainment has also improved and Citroen even calls it “state-of-the-art”.
Small clarification: this car was designed on a platform designed and conceived to accommodate a fully electric powertrain.
No information has yet been released regarding the release, but we expect the first cars to arrive in the very first months of 2024 in all European and Italian dealerships.
