The Japanese carmaker finally reveals the details of its sleek line car with a purely suv-coupé style # bZ4X.
We had first heard about it around March through a form of concept, but now it's finally time to see it in its final form.
What we are about to see is in fact a version that will soon arrive in the Italian streets. The particular name is linked to the fact that it is a new family of electric cars that should be declined in 7 models.
It was born on the Toyota platform that it created specifically for electric models. For all those who know Toyota RAV4 well we can say that it is basically a car of very similar dimensions. If they do not scare us then for the important dimensions, then we can consider the purchase of this 100% green car.
To see it in the local dealership, however, we have to wait for the middle of 2022, when Toyota will present two versions.
The first will have an electric motor positioned in the front while the second will even have two smaller motors of identical power one positioned on the front axle and one positioned on the rear axle. It will therefore be possible to have a full leg on all four wheels.
The basic version will be characterized by a power of about 200 horsepower and will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 8.4 seconds. For those who want to choose an integral fraction, the power has been raised to 217 horsepower and it takes less than 8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour.
The new Toyota will have a 71 kWh battery with lithium-ion cells that are expected to maintain 90% efficiency even after 10 years.
According to the stylistic aspect, this car is characterized by taut and soft lines at the same time. It certainly does not have a revolutionary stylistic line but it follows the normal Toyota stylistic lines. The headlights almost horizontally and grow along the wheel arch with the classic shape of the headlights that has recently been in fashion.
Getting on board the car you immediately notice how important technology is and in fact there is a huge display on the dashboard in a vertical position that incorporates all the main navigation and infotainment information through a horizontal shape.
And now we come to the most important aspect almost for electric car batteries or autonomy.
For the base version Toyota claims it can reach 500 km on a single charge in the traditional homologation cycle and 460 km in the full version. To recharge this car, it is also possible to use direct current columns up to 150 kW which allow you to recharge up to 80% of the battery in just 30 minutes.
No information has yet been released regarding the prices of this car but they will certainly be in line with what is already on the market within the world of electric and Coupé-style Crossover.
On the other hand, there are still several months to go until the official presentation in our dealerships and therefore much can still change as regards the eco-incentives of electric cars that the Italian and European governments can implement.
