Very often those who do not want to buy a petrol car, to try to save something while driving, are undecided between choosing a diesel or LPG car. Let's find out the differences together and which one is really convenient.
The cars are truly endless and it is a real struggle to find the perfect one for our tastes. Having therefore reached the final choice of the model, the dispute very often begins as to whether a diesel or GPL car is better. They are two forms of nutrition now known and well known to all and are widely spread in every single corner of Italy and Europe. In fact, if electric cars still have something to discount in terms of spreading the infrastructures, it is absolutely very simple to fill up with diesel or LPG in every corner of Italy. We must therefore understand if there are really any differences between these two forms of power supply and the convenience also in the management of the car.
We do not simply have to look at the price at the distributor when we choose a diesel or LPG car. There are many aspects that need to be considered when choosing between these two forms of nutrition.
However, observing the price at the distributor as an economic aspect, it is clear that LPG has a clear advantage compared to diesel. The cost is in fact almost half. However, we must consider that an LPG car always needs a certain amount of petrol to leave and to get going. In fact, we cannot think of having an LPG car that does not have a minimum amount of the latter inside the petrol tank.
Looking at the energy yield , however, LPG does not have a great value. It is perfect for getting around town, but if we often have to make extra-urban trips at constant speeds, diesel is definitely the optimal choice. While we make our extra-urban trips, we can also carry out the refueling of petrol autonomously in the self-service filling stations. This aspect is not possible with the LPG form of fuel. The self-service LPG in Italy is not yet allowed unfortunately.
Again due to the particular form of supply, LPG as a gas tends to expand with heat and is prohibited by law in many underground car parks in the vast majority of tank architectures.
As for the size of the trunk , there are usually no big differences. The modern cars that are produced as standard, with LPG fuel form, have in fact a high technology, which allows the LPG tank to be completely hidden under the bottom of the trunk.
If we are passionate about the Sunday ride , LPG cars certainly have the benefit that they never come to be subject to traffic blocks, unlike diesel instead.
However, looking at a prospective scope , as regards the future years and the ability to sell a car, certainly an LPG car has more credentials to obtain a higher evaluation tomorrow.
With the heavy criticism related to diesel, which are in some respects questionable, LPG is certainly safer . However, if you still want to buy a diesel car for daily extra-urban trips and you are not interested in reselling the car in the next 5 or 10 years, then surely diesel is an excellent choice and will give you great satisfaction.
So here are all the possibilities for reflection in the choice of an LPG or diesel car
