The dashboard of the car has a whole series of warning lights that are traceable to precise colors. Let's find out together what is the reason for the diversification of colors and which are the lights to which we must be very careful, in case they turn on.

Modern technology is now leading almost all cars to have a fully digital dashboard. The old analog odometers and tachometers no longer exist, but there is only a large screen that contains a whole series of information inside it.

Lovers of old cars are therefore a little disappointed in not being able to see the classic tachometer and odometer anymore, with that hand moving on the full scale. Despite everything, however, technology advances and therefore it is unthinkable that there is no high resolution display for these aspects.

Despite everything, obviously the spies cannot be omitted even as technology advances. The warning light, for example, of the blue high beams, is in fact present both on a digital dashboard, but also on the analog dashboard of course. In fact, the highway code has not changed and cannot adapt to the change of a dashboard which is a mere digital instrument.

Very often we have that people do not understand well which are the most complex spies to analyze and why they are distinguished by color.

The reason is quite simple and is to be found in the meanings of the colors. In summary, the lights can be distinguished in different colors, ie green, white, yellow, orange, red and blue.

First of all, let's say that, if anything, not all cars have all the same warning lights. For example, if a car is a bit dated, and does not have a certain type of driving assistance such as Lane assist, it will clearly not have that certain control signal on the dashboard.

The spies, which we have all seen at least once, are obviously the green ones. They are used when there is a momentarily active function. We can find, for example, the headlights on, with the sidelights or the dipped headlights. Let's not forget the indicator light (the change of direction) or the cruise control. They convey a sense of tranquility, and in fact the color green, not surprisingly, is the color of nature and trees.

There are also other spies that we must not fear, namely those of white color and that allow us to be informed about some aspects. For example, it can be the warning lights that inform us about the possible need to go to a dealer to schedule a check.

The third lights that we want to introduce are the blue ones , which highlight a momentary entry into operation of a certain aspect of the car. A clear example is clearly the high beams that are not normally used, except for various reasons in an absolutely temporary way.

The yellow or orange warning lights, on the other hand, highlight dangerous situations that deserve special attention from the driver. In fact, we can find yellow or orange warning lights that highlight problems in internal terms of the engine, or we simply have almost run out of petrol in the tank.

On the other hand, the situation is much more problematic, if the warning lights are red, as they highlight an urgent problem that could affect the state of health of the vehicle. In fact, we can talk about ABS problems, a possible opening of the car doors, battery problems, or it can remind us that the parking brake is actively positioned. In fact, the red colored lights are the most serious ones.

Here is the guide that allows us to understand what are the different types of lights and the reason for the division based on colors. Therefore, depending on the danger and the need for the driver to be informed of that particular warning light, the latter can go from a simple white information, up to orange or red colors in the most serious cases.
