Much has been said, but now we finally see the car concretely. It is an extremely dynamic crossover and extremely linked to all those who love sportiness and flowing lines.

If we close our eyes for a moment and focus on the whole history of car design, we notice how lately all cars are realistically much more flowing and much more like a bow. In fact, lately the cars are tending towards a truly arched construction style, which allows for excellent aerodynamic drag coefficients. In fact, the days when the cars were squared off and placed an important air resistance are long gone.

Nissan wanted to combine this trend with the current phase of change in the field of electrification. The final product is an excellent crossover which is the most aerodynamic of the Japanese house Nissan.

To achieve this exceptional combination of aerodynamics and electric mobility, the last 10 years of electric vehicle know-how have been exploited. The result is an aerodynamic drag coefficient of just 0.297. In fact, the design has been taken care of and modeled in order to cut the air in the best way to maximize running efficiency.

But why all this maniacal and scrupulous attention to try to obtain an aerodynamic drag coefficient as low as possible? Simple, to increase the range of the electric car. Ariya is in fact a fully electric car, and a greater stylistic choice in terms of air penetration is highly desirable.

The vehicle in question was therefore a test bed to perfect all future Nissan cars in the field of sustainable mobility. The car has not yet been homologated, but according to sources from the car manufacturer in a recent press release, it should be over 500 km long. The latter figure was communicated during the world presentation in 2020, but it should be something more.

The attention to detail was obsessive to the point of perfecting the flat underbody. The latter in fact guarantees stability while driving and ease of control while the front shield and the clean lines of the bodywork reduce aerodynamic drag.

Developing an electric car is something absolutely complicated. In fact, one cannot ignore the aerodynamic style, capable of not affecting much on the battery and on the consumption of the latter.

Looking at the photos you notice a very nice car. In fact, we must not think that extreme forms in terms of aerodynamics are not congenial to our eye. The front is in fact very fluid and also very sporty and friendly. The line of windows that rises progressively makes it resemble an almost coupé shape.

The very short rear end, which ends just beyond the rear window, allows the car to slide off as quickly as possible and to provide minimal air resistance.

The headlights are really minimal and nestled under the hood, between the hood and the front grille. They should be developed in a form of four LED headlights, which give the car a sense of dynamism and aggression at the same time.

A car therefore that should literally revolutionize the entire electric mobility sector, further increasing the context of real autonomy on the road. We will see in the homologation phase if Nissan's wishes and hopes are confirmed.
