With over 3 million units sold in Europe, Qashqai wants to confirm itself in the new version as the reference SUV for families. Renewed the design created on the new CMF-C platform.

We have arrived at the third generation of the Nissan Qashqai. It was back in 2007 when it was presented for the first time and in fact it inaugurated the SUV segment. In 14 years, 3 million units have been sold within the European continent alone. Nissan wanted to keep the same guiding line, that is an SUV for families, which does not give up on sportsmanship. The design is still elegant and features a rich technological equipment as well as obviously performing and efficient engines. The build quality is high-end and therefore allows you to buy a very well equipped and very well assembled car. The driving experience is also decidedly not in the industry and price range of the Qashqai, as it aims for higher levels.

The third generation of the Nissan Qashqai uses the new platform derived from the French Japanese alliance. In this way, the characteristics of the Qashqai, i.e. comfort and technological innovation, are even more marked.

In a recent note Marco Fioravanti, vice president of product planning at Nissan Europe, said that behind the third generation of Nissan Qashqai, there is a careful analysis of the relationships that have been made with customers over the last 13 years. In this way, Nissan was able to understand the needs and appreciate even more the more successful aspects of Qashqai.

According to an aesthetic aspect, the third generation is more impressive and modern. The length has been increased by just 3.5 cm and the wheelbase is longer by 2. The height by 2.5 cm and width by 3.2 has also been increased. All in all, therefore, the proportions are identical and the dimensions have been slightly increased by a trifle.

The interiors are more ergonomic and therefore allow for greater habitability and more space. The thin front full LED headlights characterize a slender and all in all elegant line. On the rear lights, on the other hand, a drop-shaped graduated optic has been positioned which allows for a three-dimensional lighting effect.

The connection inside the car is a priority aspect. The infotainment system is in fact very advanced and allows complete integration of smartphones, as well as in-Car WiFi which allows up to 7 devices to connect to the car and the internet, as well as, of course, Nissan Connect Services, the dedicated app to manage and monitor. vehicle.

At the center of the dashboard we find the Nissan Connect with a 9-inch high-resolution display with which to access all the navigation functions, infotainment and settings of the car.

In addition, it is also possible to have a new 12-inch multifunction TFT display, which allows you to have a complete look at navigation, entertainment and traffic updates.

Obviously, the innovative head-up display of almost 11 inches is not missing, the largest in the category, which provides all the information on navigation and traffic.

As for engines, Nissan has decided to position 50% of total sales in Europe by electrification by 2023. For this reason, Nissan Qashqai is also born with a 140 or 158 horsepower Mild Hybrid 1.3 DIG-T petrol system. The transmission is manual 6-speed or with the Xtronic gearbox (but only for the 158 horsepower version). This engine allows for a maximum power that is delivered 5500 rpm, while the maximum torque of 270 Newton meter is already usable at 1750 rpm.

Alternatively we have the 1.5 petrol engine with 190 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque.

Diesel? Not foreseen at the moment.

What about the prices? Not yet formalized
